Why?

We are committed to this work to help our unhoused and disenfranchised brothers and sisters in Chicago live better and more dignified lives. 

Our mission is to meet people where they are, uplift them, and support them with an approach that is free from bias and judgment and orientated towards establishing human connections with everyone we encounter. 

We provide community outreach services to this vulnerable population and support services aligned with addressing and alleviating the individualized needs of those we encounter. 

Street outreach is important to engage with people experiencing homelessness who may be disconnected or alienated from services and supports. Our outreach helps us establish supportive relationships, give people advice and support when needed, and enhance the possibility that these individuals will transition out of homelessness.

How?

Since 2017, Street Samaritans has been engaging with the Chicago community to drive the fulfillment of our mission. We are committed to results and putting your donations to work.

Fueled by charitable giving, connections with ancillary organizations, our volunteers and patrons, and listening to the people we serve, Street Samaritans is continuously working to bring positive changes to our community. Current programs include Homeless to Homeward, Chicago Cares, and Community Care and Connection Team.

Make an impact

Partnerships

Our partners are the essential driving force behind our organization’s impact. To truly make a difference in the lives of our unhoused neighbors, it’s important to work with and through other organizations. By using this approach, we can be more impactful than if we worked alone.

Collaboration is at the heart of our mission. We want to mobilize individual supporters to achieve social change, as well as leverage a network of nonprofits and for-profits to achieve a greater good. A network strategy allows us to reach more people and to have far more impact than we could on our own. There are many great organizations and resources in Chicagoland. We aim to work with these organizations and centralize resources for our clients.

Whether it is fundraising, volunteering, sharing knowledge, or providing critical resources for those we serve, our partners serve as the backbone and extension of Street Samaritans.

We are single-minded in our mission to serve the unhoused and disenfranchised.

We’re proud to highlight that we:

  • Advocate and Serve – We know we cannot achieve systemic change through service delivery alone. We use all our platforms to advocate for people experiencing homelessness.
  • Expand Corporate Philanthropy – We work with the corporate sector to engage in programs, volunteering and giving opportunities that make a meaningful impact in our community.
  • Inspire Advocates – We want everyone involved in the fight to end homelessness. Our volunteers do so much more than contribute to our organization; they are evangelists for our cause.
  • Nurture Nonprofit Networks – Our partnership ecosystem is critical to our success. We work through and with other nonprofit organizations to achieve greater impact and value collaboration over competition.
  • Adapt – We modify our services as needed to increase our success and adapt to changing circumstances. We listen, learn, and change our approach to meet the individualized needs of those we serve.
  • Put Relationships First – We believe in the people we serve and keep our relationships with our unhoused brothers and sisters central to our work. These connections are the catalysts for personal transformation.
